It's almost impossible to choose a studio based merely on a
brochure, price list or brief telephone discussion. The only
way to be sure we can offer what you seek is to meet with us
by appointment at our studio. Allow around 15-30 minutes to
discuss your photography session and familiarize yourself with
our individual style. Evening appointments can be arranged if
needed. This pre-portrait consultation is merely a time to go
over your possibilities and formalize your ideas.
The clothing that you wear during your portrait shoot can either
make or break the end result. What you and all members of the
family wear during the portrait shoot is one of the most critical
aspects. Have you ever noticed that fashion shoots in magazines
always incorporate the brighter colours such as reds, yellows,
oranges etc? This is because they want the clothes to stand
out and not the people wearing them. This is certainly not what
you want from your portraits. You want the subject, yourselves,
to stand out and become the main focus of the images, not what
you are wearing.
For this reason, avoid wearing bright colours, any clothes
with stripes or patterns and any item of clothing that has big
bold logos on the front. Most people these days are after something
fairly relaxed and casual from their portraiture so choose to
wear jeans with neutral coloured shirts. Most popular colours
are blacks, whites and navy blues. It also is really effective
if everyone can co-ordinate and wear similar styles and colours.
This ensures that the main attraction of all of your images
will be the subject, rather than what everyone is wearing.
After the photographic session, your images will be ready for
viewing within a week. During this multimedia presentation you
will be able to view all your images projected to the correct
size, and even in a family album. You will be able to place
your orders during this time. It is important for all the decision
makers to attend. Order confirmations can be made by cash, cheque
or credit cards. Please come prepared. Because your portraits
will be the best that you have ever seen, we find that some
people invest hundreds, and many spend thousands, it is up to
you!
